Abhyanga

Abhyang (or Abhyanga) is a traditional Ayurvedic practice of full-body oil massage. Kati Basti

In this treatment, warm medicated oil is poured and retained in a dough-made reservoir over the lower back for a specific period. It is primarily used to relieve lower back pain, stiffness and related musculoskeletal issues.

Purpose: Provides targeted nourishment and relief to the lower back muscles and spinal nerves.

Procedure:

  • A dough ring is made and placed on the lower back.
  • Warm herbal oil is poured into the reservoir and kept for 20 - 40 minutes.
